Linkin Park's Chester Bennington speaks about future plans with Stone Temple Pilots
... Linkin Park
frontman Chester Bennington has spoken further about his future plans with Stone Temple Pilots. Fans attending the KROQ Weenie Roast in Los Angeles at the weekend were the first to discover that Bennington is now the lead singer of the band, which was previously fronted by Scott Weiland. You can watch Bennington performing 'Dead And Bloated' from STP's debut album 'Core' below. The singer spoke about his decision to join the band to KROQ Radio after the show and confirmed they are working on new material together: "Every band has it's own kind of vibe. Stone Temple Pilots has this sexier, more classic rock feel to it. Linkin Park
is a very modern, very tech-heavy type of band. I grew up listening to these guys. When this opportunity came up, it was just like a no-brainer. We couldn't really plan a tour until now because we couldn't let people know what was going on. Now the cat's out of the bag so we're going to go out and make more music and go play more shows and have some fun." The band have now also posted their first material with Bennington online entitled 'Out Of Time'. Scroll down below to hear it. Stone Temple Pilots' next gig is scheduled for May 30 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Linkin Park

They started out as Xero with Mike, Rob, Brad, Joe, and Phoenix, but then they changed it after Chester joined to Hybrid Theory. They got into a minor legal dispute about their name with another band, so they changed to Lincoln Park, and then they changed the spelling so they could afford their own website. They used Hybrid Theory as the title to their first album. (thanks, Chelsea - Richardson, TX)
Many states have a Lincoln Park. This led many people to believe they were a local band when they toured in these areas. They are named after the Lincoln Park in their hometown of Santa Monica, California.
Warner Brothers rejected the band 3 times before they finally signed them.
They don't swear in most of their songs. They feel there are better ways to get their message across.
Delson wears headphones when he plays to protect his hearing.
Mike Shinoda has a solo project called Fort Minor. The name indicates that the music comes from multiple guest artists in addition to Shinoda. (thanks, Bertrand - Paris, France)
Shinoda is a distant relative of the Russian composer Tchaikovsky. (thanks, gokce - istanbul, Turkey)
In 2002, they started Projekt Revolution, which is a tour made up of diverse acts like Cypress Hill, Mudvayne, KoRn, Snoop Dogg and Chris Cornell. The tour ran annually until 2004, and started up again in 2007. (thanks, Bertrand - Paris, France)
Shaun Morgan of Seether
Shaun breaks down the Seether songs, including the one about his brother, the one about Ozzy, and the one that may or may not be about his ex-girlfriend Amy Lee.
Songs About Movies
Iron Maiden, Adele, Toto, Eminem and Earth, Wind & Fire are just some of the artists with songs directly inspired by movies - and not always good ones.
His keyboard work helped define the Muscle Shoals sound and make him an integral part of many Neil Young recordings. Spooner is also an accomplished songwriter, whose hits include "I'm Your Puppet" and "Cry Like A Baby."
Mark Arm of Mudhoney
When he was asked to write a song for the Singles
soundtrack, Mark thought the Seattle grunge scene was already overblown, so that's what he wrote about.
